Position Title : Grinder

Position Summary :

The Grinder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by operating grinding equipment to produce precision components for saw blades and cutting tools.

This position requires attention to detail, technical skill, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities :

Operation of Grinding Equipment : Operate precision grinding machines to grind and sharpen saw blades, cutting tools, and related components according to specifications and instructions.

Setup and Adjustment : Set up grinding machines, including adjusting settings, selecting appropriate grinding wheels, and ensuring proper alignment and calibration for each job.

Quality Control : Perform visual inspections and measurements to ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of ground products, making adjustments as needed to meet specifications.

Maintenance and Cleaning : Conduct routine maintenance tasks on grinding equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating grinding machinery, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout / tagout procedures.

Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, materials used, production counts, and any quality issues or deviations encountered.

Team Collaboration : Collaborate with colleagues, including machine operators, technicians, and supervisors, to optimize production processes, troubleshoot problems, and achieve production goals.

Qualifications and Skills :

• High school diploma or equivalent;additional technical training or certification in machining or grinding operations preferred.
• Proven experience operating precision grinding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical proficiency in machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal errors.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, lift, and operate machinery for extended periods.
